Wheels of Change

While driving back from Chicago on Sunday, a truck passed by with lots and lots of wheels. In my mind, I was preparing for a presentation on Monday and could not finalize the topic. So the idea for this post came from this journey and the concept of change that I firmly believe in, found a natural match with the wheels.

A wheel has been one of the most important invention in history that transformed the world. Around 3500 B.C. the invention of the basic wheel changed the way human beings moved themselves and goods from one place to another. Later developments and improvements further revolutionized the lives and even turned the wheels of the industrial revolution.

Faster means of transportation connected people across different continents like never before. Amongst all these transformations, one thing remained constant and that was change. If we can summarize all these great improvements, change would form their basis. At a basic level, when a wheel turns and rotates, it signifies change. The revolving of earth and changing of seasons signifies change.

The need to change for the better and the desire to excel can foster innovation. Change therefore, is important and always needed. Most importantly, real change comes from within. We as individuals have to be the change and help in changing the world to be an even better place for everyone.

I am sharing a presentation that I delivered yesterday, titled Wheels of Change, which sheds light on the important concept of change and how wheels transformed the world.
