The purpose of this site is to share information on my research and teaching interests, hobbies and achievements in the realm of new & social media, information, journalism and PR.
I have over seven years of teaching experience that greatly adds to my scholarly potential. Besides expertise in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses both online and face-to-face, I am interested in researching the dynamics of user behavior and engagement, focusing on social media use for business, learning, and public relations (PR). Working in various capacities in both the academia and the industry has given me considerable exposure in dealing with complex issues. By virtue of offering marketing and PR related consultancy services to various organizations, I am never short of novel research ideas that further fuel my passion for research.
Working as a social media strategist has given me valuable experience in dealing with real issues facing organizations and businesses in creating and maintaining effective and integrated marketing communication strategies. I am particularly interested in researching user behavior, Internet skills, and what motivates individuals to engage with media; and how it could impact public relations campaigns and social media journalism.
While managing an undergraduate business program in 2008, I was responsible for managing teams, organizing campus wide students activities, and helping students to actively participate in research. I believe that my success till now is a result of my excellent communication, time management, and problem solving skills. I have successfully balanced my work and family life, and my research and teaching skills will prove to be an asset for any organization.
